Aarti Sura

Aarti Sura serves as Chief Operating Officer for Three Ships and is an Operating Partner for each of our portfolio companies. In this role, she advises each of our businesses on key human capital decisions and has led the launch of Three Ships’ Leadership Development program.

With a background beginning in investment banking, Aarti quickly learned the nuances of deal structuring, negotiation, and finance as she focused on mergers and acquisitions across a variety of industries. Later in her career, she served as the Chief Strategy Officer of a regional healthcare system, overseeing strategy, M&A, marketing, informatics, decision support, and operational improvement.

As an early member of the Three Ships team, Aarti has had a 13-year history with our company, serving in a variety of roles from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Strategy Officer to Board Member. One of the keys to her success is that she deeply understands the opportunities and challenges facing our leaders through her own experiences and brings that knowledge to her role as Chief People Officer and, in particular, to the design of 3S Leadership Development.

Aarti received her undergraduate degree from the UNC Chapel Hill and her MBA from Harvard Business School.

Throughout her career, she has served on the boards of several nonprofits and has a personal passion for creating opportunities for the underprivileged as a catalyst for generational change. She lives with her husband and two children in Charlotte, NC.
